“Trump may be playing Russian roulette but a continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide” Bill Barr
When Sanad was launched, I was a vocal advocate. I kept encouraging everyone to download it and get it authenticated. At some point, some people thought I was working for Sanad!
[Update: most banks can now authenticate Sanad for you from the comfort of your own couch; since then, more people starting signing up]
Now if they announce tomorrow that you can vote from the comfort of your own home via Sanad, I think everyone is going to get the app.
Should this happen, I am still NOT going to vote in the next parliamentary elections. Just like how former Attorney General Bill Barr and most Americans feel, there aren’t many good choices… It just feels more of the same to me.
I tried to follow up on most of new “parties” but they all sound empty. Full Spectrum did a great summary and breakdown of the debates, but I was left feeling like nothing is really being said.
We see names like Party of the Workers and the Worker’s Party… what’s the difference??? Those in it are mostly ex-government people anyways with their own personal agendas (and vendettas). No new fresh blood, no real clear agenda. And I, like most citizens1, am too busy stuck in traffic or overloaded with work to comb through any of their political Manifestos (if any) that I’m sure were just made up by ChatGPT .
Come September we might see the same faces get elected with the same celebrations and the same persistent issues (economy barely growing, national debt, corruption, etc.) with not much else being done…
I’m just disappointed there is no Green Party2; one that cares for the environment3 and clean sources of energy (like nuclear or hydrogen or hydroelectric or geothermal…).
If anyone knows of a party with a strong environmental agenda, please feel free to share. I’m starting to lose hope…
Anyways, the elections will take place 10 days before World Clean Up Day… I might do something more useful on that day off and do a bit of clearing up to our forests 🌳
I won’t be voting… not even to a minority seat. I prefer to do something productive to our beautiful country.
Something strange has been also popping up on social media since October 7th: Jordanian purists who want to get rid of non-tribal Jordanians, viz. of foreign origin (first it included the Circassians, Armenians, Chechens… now it’s mostly the Jordanians of Palestinian origin). The irony is that most of these accounts belong to Jordanians living abroad with foreign passports or foreign funded trouble makers. How do they have the time to be on social media 24/7?
In my view, and to put it simply, a Green Party would advocate for a Green Economy : “Green” is the last stage of development for any nation, in my opinion, where the country becomes self-sufficient as much as it could, has a circular economy with the least amount of waste possible, and is highly efficient with the least amount of work and resources. And the air, water, and people’s souls are “clean”.
A question I keep asking myself: who keeps throwing all this garbage in Nature? Who dares throw 1 piece of trash in this holy land??
I saw Jordanian Jordanians do it (do they think that they’re entitled and above the law since it’s their land?) and I saw refugees do it (maybe because they have no devotion or attachment to the land and that they might leave soon?). I am an optimist and believe things will get better in that regard… I hope.
